Opera literara „Pastel” scrisa de George Cosbuc apartine genului liric indeplinand trasaturile specifice acestuia.
In primul rand, exista un limbaj artistic , incarcat in figuri de stil si imagini artistice. Personificarea: „a obosit padurea […] a tot cantat” , -imagine vizuala si auditiva, peisajul a fost surprins noaptea. Metafora: „amurgul moare” – imagine vizuala amurgul doarme .
In al doilea rand, e prezent eul liric, aceasta voce a textului este un mesager al autorului prin care se transmit emotii prezenta sa este tradata de marci lexico-gramaticale , verbe de persoana I si II „cred” , si pronume personale de persoana I si II „eu” . Eul liric se afla in ipostaza se admirator al peisajului,
De asemenea in text regasim descrierea, modul de expunere prezent in textele lirice. Pentru ca se descrie un peisaj de primavara predomina cuvintele din campul lexical al naturii : „visini” , „vantul” , „mac”, „cicoare” , „padurea” ,etc. In text sunt prezente si marile nominale : „rosul mac” , „tacutul liliac” .
In plus textull are o structura dpecifica in versuri organizate in sase sextine cu mai multe feluri de rima cum ar fi imbratisata , imperecheata , monorima , incrucisata
In concluzie posibil am incadrat textul suport in genul liric
